So, here’s a lunatic idea: walk across the island point to point. Yes, a bit like the hospice Walk the Wight, but without having to do it with a thousand other people.
Yes, 27 or so miles, but not doing it so we have to buy up all of the blister plasters in Cowes (and not be able to walk for a week).
We could stop off?
Do it in two .. or three bits?
Do you know a b&b near Brighstone forest that’s conveniently on the Tennyson trail? No?
Bivvy bags it is then.
